Renuka Chowdhury: Minister for ‘Pink Chaddis’ or ‘Woman and Child development’ ?

Union Minister for Women and Child Development Renuka Chowdhury is the fire spewing ‘Young’ leader of Congress and most visible and vocal champion of Woman rights. You can spot her almost on daily basis on any of 24X7 channels espousing the cause of Womanhood.

Her passionate defense of ‘Pink Chaddi Woman Folk’ and her zeal to see that more and more woman too become Pub Going Loose and Forward’ (excuseme ladies, whatever you call selves as) was too fantastic. If Gandhi Ji had given a call of ‘Jail Bharo’ then, her call of ‘Pub Bharo’ was too ingenious. She has secured self a place in history. I was amazed to see her tarring the whole of Manglore natives by saying “’Mangalore has been Talibanised.” It is different matter that Manglorians were not amused by her’s  this senseless statement and the Mayor and otther prominient citizens filed a complaint prompting theCourt to ask authorities to register a FIR against the union minister.

Renuka has a proclivity for attracting publicity even at the expense of public and this is well known. She may well choose to support ‘Pink Chaddis’ or strive to see that more and more woman include PUB visit as a weekly schedule if not daily just as woman folk make a visit to Beauty parlor.

But for that to happen Renuka as a minister will have to first ensure that no woman is forced to sell her Child to pay up Medical Bill (?) that too in Govt run Hospital. SHAME!

SHAME INDEED!  This happens in the Honorable Ministers’ own constituency. This following report is a slap on the face of Renuka Choudhury the ‘Honorable Union Minister’ for Women and Child Development. HUH!

Mom sells baby to pay ‘bribe’ in Renuka’s constituency

Hyderabad: In a heart-rending incident, a young poverty-stricken single mother in Andhra Pradesh sold her newborn son to a childless couple for Rs 6,000 so that she could pay her medical bill in a Government hospital.

“My financial position is really bad,” a distraught looking Rajitha (20) who could not afford the Rs 2,000 hospital fee said from her bed at the Government area hospital in Kothagudem in Khammam district.

She delivered the baby by Caesarean section last week and the infant changed hands within 24 hours.

Police said they would take action against the hospital which also faces an inquiry whether its doctors took any money as bribe from the woman.

“Buying and selling a baby is an offence, so we will be booking cases,” Kothagudem revenue division officer P Rajaram said.

According to reports, a rickshaw driver friend gave the single mother Rs 6,000 for the baby, which he planned to bring up with his wife. The couple have no children.

The incident occurred in the parliamentary constituency of Union Minister of State for Women and Child development Renuka Chowdhury.

“At least, she is safe and at least the child is not dead and not killed. I think they are the most important things that we need to look at,” Chowdhury said.

The woman told the police who interrogated her that her husband had abandoned her and she had no means to support herself and a baby.

“We are also inquiring into the fact whether the doctor had asked for money (from the woman),” he added.

Welfare officials reportedly want the baby to be reunited with his mother so she can breastfeed him. They said the mother and child would then be shifted to a state-run facility where Rajitha can decide if she wants to put the baby up for adoption.

I want to question Renuka Choudhury: Is this poor woman has no right to be defended by you? Or is it because she is not ‘Loose and forward Enough’ to merit your attention? Any Answer?

Meantime, she got to sew her mouth and control often displayed ‘histrionics’ whenever she sees TV cameras.

“Hamam Mein Sab Nange Hain”

If you happen to be Editor, Managing Editor, Editor in Chief or an Executive Editor in Sec-Soc Main Stream Media and dream for becoming some Padam Shri or Padam Bhushan then; all that you need to do is: Sing Pagans in praise of Madame, project Rahul as the future and more importantly do all you can to down size Advani. Do that by all means who stops you after all one Padam Shri Editor in Chief say and say openly, “Hamam Mein Sab Nange Hain”. Who doubts any more?

All these mighty people have their own perspective of issues depending upon their ‘political and/or economic’ intersests. Well, I hold nothing against them for their ‘being’ what they are, but WTF if they delebirately become so oblivious of some very  basic and  simple facts and in their zeal to be more loyal to Queenlie through teeth!!!!!

It is one thing to project the one who hold license to rule but bloody too much to do what this one Pranjal Sharma of UTVi does here. Screw up history, contort Geography and project self as a front runner for some Padam Shri or Bhushan is too much to digest????

Shamelessly This Executive Editor of UTVi does exactly the same and say ‘this’ about Shri L.K.Advani,

A Prime Minister born in Karachi may not go down well post-26/11.

Well! Is this Executive Editor Pranjal Sharma really ignorant of history? Is he really ignorant of geography before 1947 or after? None. He is simply being too smart by half by exploiting the popular sentiment of General Public against the perpetrators of Mumbai Mayhem coming from Karachi.

These days challenging these high and mighty ones are a risky thing. After all not long back the ‘Queen’ of Indian News sued a poor blogger and Raja of Indian News demonstrated how ‘Media Mein Sab Nange Hain’ .

For the benefit of this Executive Editor of UTVi, here are two maps pre and post partition of India and that too when Nehru and Gandhi were at the helms of affairs.

Just one question for this ‘Executive Editor’ Pranjal Sharma of UTVi

Was ‘Karachi’ a part of India or not

in 1929? If yes, then WTF is this above sentence for if not outrageoulsy outrageous?

But only if not Pranjal Sharma’s intention is to obfuscate facts and promote self at the cost of Geography then what else is it?

Shameless! Utterly Shameless.

Another example how the Congress fixed Institutions.

‘Executive Editor’ Pranjal Sharma get your facts right and/or SHUT UP.

‘Take Dynasty out of Democracy’ : Sudheendra Kulkarni

This is to put on record that your truly has always been inspired by Shri Kulkarni. I seek his guidance, always.)

Shri Sudheendra Kulkarni is one among the most respected columnist and surely a ‘Sane Voice’ among the Cacophonic and Sycophantic Main stream media. Here in this well argued post Taking dynasty out of democracy Shri Kulkarni has emphatically certified what you’re truly had argued in this post Navin Chawala or Democracy: Choose One.

In this post ‘Navin Chawala or Democracy: Choose One.’ You’re truly had sought to draw attention of readers to three broad point.

1. Well as I said earlier too and reiterate that democracy is not about voting alone or/and getting elected. No Way. Democracy is about: Protecting Rights, Supporting and strengthening Institutions, Affording/Providing Equal opportunities to all and any, last but not least - not only been honest and transparent but to be seen so.

2. Original Ms. Gandhi in cohorts with Communists started weakening ‘Institutions’ which has ‘Now’ been perfected by the Imported Ms. Gandhi- Sonia ‘Maino’ Gandhi.

3. Abusing Democracy and undermining institutions runs deep in this family. Question is: Do we need democracy or we are doomed with a family’s whims and fancy?

Shri Kulkarni besides certifying these points has some many more interesting points to add.

On Rahul Gandhi being projected as future Prime Minister, Mr. S. Kulkarni says

Now the Congress has projected Rahul Gandhi as its future leader and prime ministerial candidate. ‘Ateet ke neenv par/Bhavishya ka nirmaan’ (Building a future on the foundation of the past) say Congress posters showcasing Rahul. The very first principle of democracy? equal opportunity undiluted by birth-related privileges? has been violated by this blatant hardsell of dynasty. The assumption that a member of the Nehru family need not have governmental experience or any record of service to the nation to be projected as the future prime minister of India is an insult to the logic of democracy.

On devaluation of Democratic Institutions under congress rule…

Yes, we can be justifiably proud of our democracy. But if take a closer look, we will be able to see the infirmities and deformities within our system. Some of our present rulers have done everything to devalue institutions of parliamentary democracy. Some of the salient issues associated with the Rashtrapati’s election in July 2007still remain unresolved. The Election Commission has become the centre of an unprecedented controversy. And we have a prime minister who is not even directly elected by the people. He prefers to play second fiddle to an extra-constitutional authority that has nominated him.

Kulkarni Sir urges us…

If we want to make India’s democracy failure-proof, let us raise our voice against what we think is wrong, even at the risk of suffering hardships. Let us campaign for a leadership culture that promotes merit and does not privilege birth. Let us demand far-reaching electoral reforms, including state funding of elections, whereby money power cannot steal or subvert people’s mandate. Let us force greater accountability upon our political leaders. And let us be vigilant in safeguarding the sanctity of our democratic institutions

He warns us too in no uncertain terms…

If we fail democracy, democracy will fail us.

I join Sir Kulkarni in his appeal to save the democracy from dynasty and ‘Take Dynasty out of Democracy.’

Barkha Dutt & ‘Freedom of Speech’. HUH!

Padam Shri Barkha Dutt Ji who is next on your hit list?

One blogger Chyetanya Kunte wrote an angry post after being rightly pissed off watching the TV reportage during Mumbai Mayhem. He has not only been forced to retract his post (google cache is available here) but publish unconditional  apology too. Presumably after being threatened with legal action by Padam Shri Barkha Dutt or NDTV or both. Well I am not surprised at all. Ms. Barkha Dutt has always held bloggers with contempt and has always been angry at them.

I join the bloggers fraternity and strongly condemn this highhandedness. Ms Dutt and NDTV forfeit any right to be sanctimonious about the ‘freedom of Speech’ and all that blah blah. So next time we hear you Barkha- preaching us about ‘Liberal’ values and all that, even my 10 year old daughter know what to do with the remote.

Ms Barkha Dutt and her 24X7 News Channel has picked on a poor blogger to settle some scores but will Barkha Didi answer why Kunte alone? Ms Dutt, did the Admiral not say the same thing?

Many in the media have managed to secure for selves one or another Padam Shri or Bhushan (despite this sane advice here) and they feel that they are above any scrutiny, criticism, and appraisal. Smug in their belief they feel only they have the right to speech and speak what ever they want! MSM has monopolized over the public discourse and force their opinions on the gullible public.

Now, Ms Dutta and her colleagues in media have started a new trend of intimidating the dissenting voices.

So next time when we see the Padam Shri Editor In Chief  of a channel sit over sting operation tapes he himself commissioned and let the favorite party win a crucial parliamentary fight, we sit and watch him.

So next time when a kid is brutally murdered; we watch the channels play endlessly porn reporting! We take no offence to the way channels report!

Any time any news channel frames a School Teacher and telecast the physical assault on her, live! We sit and watch!

Next time Ms Dutt or her esteemed collogues in MSM report the police action or preparedness for anti terrorist operation airing  live on air giving away the positions of security personnel thus jeopardizing their lives during any terror attack. We sit and remain silent.

We watch, read these champions of ‘Free Speech’ and ‘Liberal Values’ preach us 24X7 and dare we not question them EVER. Lest we are slapped with legal notices and the might of these mighty Padam Shris and Bhushans are unleashed.

What a glorious way to celebrate the spirit of ‘Democracy’! Shame!

So Barka Didi; am I to going to get a legal notice soon? Yes, in that case please do me a favor and type an apology your self on my behalf I will publish that but I wont retract this on any of earlier posts.

Sagarika Ghosh: Bloody Mary or Bloody Idiot?

Here she goes again, as if you ever expected any thing sensible from her! But this time she is hell bent to prove that she needs some immediate ‘Psychiatric Attention’. Well, it may sound harsh – but then sample this…

approximately 700 deaths in six years is not a very high figure, not a figure suggesting that we are ‘a nation at war’.

Yes! I am quoting her from this ‘enlightened piece’ published as Bloody Maryher weekly column in Congress Rag called The Hindustan Congress Times.

Indian cities have been raining with bombs; people are being blown to bits on weekly basis; Saturdays are incomplete with out a Bomb going off some where killing men/women/children and yet ‘the Lady’ has the audicity and doesn’t blink her beautiful eyes lashes’ even once before asserting above?

Tell me, is she not a fit case for some deep ‘psychoanalysis’?

Now to start with: from where did she get this ‘700 deaths in six year’ figure? Even if for a moment sake I trust her figures but then.

May I ask… Ms. Bloody Mary?

Were these 700 lives Expandable?

Were they not Indians?

Did they not deserve the right to Live?

BTW Ms. Bloody Mary, I am sure none of your near and dear ones were among these 700 people! Or you would not have written the same. PERIOD.

But she does not stop at insulting the blasts victims alone. Rubbing salts over fresh wounds; she goes on to say…

Are these bomb blasts, acts of ‘terrorism’ in all the epochal evil and ideological potency that the word ‘terrorism’ today implies? Or are they simply acts of motivated criminality on which we are imposing our own ideological-political vocabulary. In the frenzy of television news, a crude bomb in a garbage bag acquires the same proportions as an aeroplane crashing into a building. But not every blast in a box is  9/11.

By her assertion we should patiently wait till another 3000+Indians perish at the altar of ’secularism’ or/and  ‘some misguided’ youth take a cue from HER and blow up some more important building – since Parliament Attack was foiled – Rashtripati Bhavan should be the ideal NEXT one. Right? Ms. Sagrika Ghosh alias Ms. Bloody Mary?

Ms. Bloody Mary admits…

We are all guilty. When 24 hour TV news shows a dead body 60 times in the space of an hour, one death begins to look like a hundred.

For once I agree with her here on this point (and that has nothing to do with her a beautiful face and me a born flirt). But Ms. Bloody Mary does this apply universally? What about when an obscure church (a make shift Hut/Church) is attacked some where (in remote Dalit Christians VS ST Christians fight) and your 24X7 Channels keep showing it repeatedly as if all Churches in India have been gutted?

Read this

In the ‘encounter’ in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar, 17-year-old Sajid, 24-year-old Atif and Inspector MC Sharma of Delhi’s Special Cell died.

OUTRAGEOUS! SIMPLY OUTRAGEOUS

Two terrorists and One Brave heart Inspector are equated without a Sentiment for the MAN dying for us- The Billion strong  Nation!  DO any of you need more proof to know how perverse ‘The Lady’ is?

If her reference to 9/11 was not IDIOTIC enough, she hints at another one. Read

If our ‘terrorism’ is of the al-Qaeda variety, why are there no suicide bombers in any of the recent urban blasts?

Hello! O, you ‘misguided youths’, she ‘exhort’ – so it seems, if not insitigatating them- answer her please. As if Ms. Bloody Mary long to see the day when 9/11 happens in India! Sic!

Now, advocating for terrorists is one thing and that passes as the ultimate litmus test for the ‘secularists’. Any secularists worth his/her ‘secularism’ who come up with some more ‘inane’ and innovative, manufactured  defense/excuse/apology for a terrorist-  is a better ‘Secularist’ and  this is known to all of us and we are resigned to this fact. Well, some of us do keep contesting, but even then these guys have more reach, must admit howsoever unfortunate it may be.

Arif Mohamed Khan has exposed some games these islamists and their apologists – including Secular 24X7 Channels play. Read this eye opening article.

AMK tells us some facts about Jamia and surrounding areas

On the other hand, attracted by this large population, more than two dozen Muslim outfits have established themselves in this neighbourhood taking upon them the responsibility to lead and organise the religious and social life of the community. They include organisations like the Personal Law Board, Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat and Jamaat-e-Islami. None of these organisations is known for promoting social reform or education. Most of the time they are competing with each other in crying wolf and pressing the need to fight against imagined threats to the Muslim religion and identity. Occasionally they also succeed in securing positions of power for their nominees and this political patronage helps them to widen their network in the community.

Now is Mr. Arif Mohammed Khan a ‘secular’ person or not? Enlighten us Ms. Bloody Mary.

Mr. Arif exposes some of the tricks employed by these ’secular forces’…

During the war in Afghanistan, public expressions of solidarity with Osama bin Laden were made and posters in his support were pasted in the area by some self-appointed champions of Muslim interests. This was done despite the knowledge that Osama and Al-Qaeda were directly involved in Terror activities in Kashmir.

He narrates another one…

The other organisation with headquarters in this area is Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat. On the slightest provocation they would call for a boycott of celebrations of Independence Day or Republic Day giving rise to communal tension. It is true that on every occasion they had withdrawn the calls, but that did not help in lessening the tension.

This about the most vocal All India Muslim Personal law Board whose members flock the Secular 24X7 studios.

The most important Muslim organisation operating from the Jamia neighborhood is the All India Muslim Personal Law Board and its affiliates. During their agitation against the judgment of the Supreme Court in the Shah Bano case, the members of AIMPLB made public exhortations to break the legs of Muslims who differed with their stand. Their supporters went to the extent of suggesting that Supreme Court judges are not competent to interpret Muslim personal law.

Since Mr. Khan – having said all this - is not a ‘Secularist’ therefore ‘Secular Jihadis’ forgot about this incident (murderous attack on Arif Mohamed Khan @ Jamia) and prefer to keep a mum on this. Read about this incident this MSM is afraid to tell.

In 1990, Prof Mushirul Haq, the vice chancellor of Kashmir University, was killed by terrorists in Srinagar. Since he was an old teacher of Jamia, his burial took place inside the campus. As an academician I had held him in great esteem and during the Shah Bano controversy had sought his opinion on several occasions. I went to attend his last rites and walked almost a kilometre with the funeral procession. After reaching the burial ground suddenly the lights went out and in that darkness I was attacked with an iron rod, causing head injury. Later, inquiries revealed that the students who had organised the blackout and attack belonged to the Jamaat-e-Islami. It is important to recall that the banned organisation, SIMI, was mostly manned by young activists inspired by philosophies like that of the Jamaat-e-Islami.

Mr. Arif has a ‘sane advice’ for Secular Jihadis like Ms. Bloody Mary in 24X7 secular media and Secular Parties alike.

The establishment must realise that the police can fight terrorists, not terrorism. Terrorism can be contained only by a strong political will that identifies and isolates individuals and organisations promoting a violent mindset and does not favour them with political patronage.

But will better sense prevail? Will the likes of Ms. Bloody Mary and her ilk inMSM and people like Zombie, MMS or Balidaan Morrti heed to Prudent advice?

I am afraid, NO. Why?

As Ajai Sahani has pointed out here ‘Bogus debate on terrorism’. He laments

There is a constant clamour about the failure to solve cases of terrorist attacks. But when a case is cracked and the guilty tracked, there is an immediate uproar over the ‘targeting of innocent Muslims’ and human rights activists come up with bizarre conspiracy theories.

It is absolutely apparent now that these ‘Secularist Jihadis’ are menace and it is high time that the people of India see through their nefarious designs and Arise!! Awake!! And Stop Not Till This terrorism is uprooted. Or else any one of us or all of us will be a mere statistics on this Bloody Mary’s next post.

Bloody Marry?  HUH! Bloody Idiot.

Rajdeep Sardesai: Answer Please, who disrobed Democracy?

Finally on August 11th, 2008 Padmashri Rajdeep Sardesai choose to share the here-to hidden tapes of Cash-For-Votes-Scandal.

What was so ‘auspicious’ on this day? Well, only Padmashri Rajdeep Ji know and can answer. BUT, why did he not telecast the tapes on 22nd July the day MMS BOUGHT the confidence of MPs and lost the Trust of Nation? Are, still not clear. But Padmashri Ji did give following reason for not airing those. He Said and I quote…

“Why have we not telecast the story so far? Quite simply, we have chosen not to telecast the story yet because we did not feel that the story was complete. Credible journalism is based on accuracy not speed, facts not sensationalism, reportage not allegations and assumptions. Our rigorous editorial protocol demands that even a hidden camera shoot is absolutely water-tight. In this particular story, there were many loose ends that needed to be cross-checked, corroborated and investigated further before the story could be aired. … […]

This is what forced Padamshri Rajdeep Sardesai to with hold telecasting sting…

1. Story was not complete.

2. As per his channel’s strict and ethical standards, the sting did not come true to their standards.

3. And finally most importantly, HE needed some more time to investigate the charges further.

Laudable Indeed! Well, skeptics in any case knew why tapes were with held, as you’re truly too wrote here why? Many people still gave Padamshri Rajdeep Sardesai a ‘benefit of doubt’, believing him for the mentioned reasons excuses, cited above.

Since the fateful July 22nd, 2008 all of sudden there were spurt of CDs released. ‘A circus of absurd’ was unleashed in the capital of World’s Largest Democracy. Democracy; which was ashamed on July 22nd!

… Teri CD… Meri CD… Us Ke CD… Kis ki CD

Meri CD Teri CD Se Tez Hai.

Tu Jhootha Mein Sacha….

For full 20 days, every body was accusing every body else and Mr. Padamshri – except for once – kept a Sphinx like silence. Then came August 11th, 2008. World awaited with ‘baited breath’ to know these modern day Dushashans (Amar and Co.), Durdoyans (Laloos, Shibhus,Mulayams,Paswans), Bhishams (who presided over humiliation of democracy, who else than ManMohan and Dada?), Dhritshashtra Mata (Ma Sonia Maino ) etc, who disrobed ‘Democracy’ that day Rajdeep.

For full two hours and thirty minutes, I just sat watching, infect after tapes ran through once - which showed what I knew already, was expecting Mr. Padamshri to enlighten me with his some more NEW findings… but I kept waiting and the MR. Padamshri wound up the program and left for home… leaving me wondering, what the fuck is/was all this fuss all about!

If this is what Rajdeep ‘had been hiding’ or was it all he had to say? Then he could very well have aired these tapes on July 22nd too!

What Rajdeep showed on 11th was no surprise at all, look here just after a week on 31st July Cash-For-Votes-Hide-The-Tape-Scandal this humble your truly had published the dates and time wise details of what had happened. FULL 12 days AHEAD OF Mr. Padamshri’s ‘Whatever it Takes’ journalist driven channel! :)

Now there are two moot questions which still remain unanswered and once again the whole sting operation is open to speculations and – as Rajdeep grudge against– ‘innuendos’ too.

Mr. Padamshri you with held tapes for more than 20 days, yet you reached to NO conclusion (as you said then, that you with held tapes for since it were inconclusive on 22nd)?

Mr. Padamshri, you also neither substantiated the charges nor refuted them! It still is as ‘loose ended’ as it was on 22nd July!

Rajdeep Sar, you had full 20 days and had you or/and your channel CNN IBN so wanted, you could have easily ‘sought and got’ the phone records of Sanjeev Saxena and Guru Amar Singh and for sure, could have either established the ‘alleged allegations’ made by Shri Arun Jatiley or refuted them unequivocally! STRANGE you needed this PI’s suggestion to apply common sense! :)

One more thing, you said some thing about ‘Credible Journalism’- what ever this means – and said it was another factor for you to ‘decide’ to not to air tapes on 22nd, as promised to ‘whistle blowers’. Forgive me Rajdeep for my ‘cynicism’; I am reproducing a small portion from my last post published in your honor.

Rajdeep your own words…

Another reason for the problem is the changing self-image of the journalist, and his role in a democratic system. For a long time the journalist’s role was seen to be that of an independent observer of events. But observation alone can be rather tedious and not very financially productive either. So, over the years, the journalist has chosen to move from the margins of the fourth estate to being firmly on the centre stage, closer to the first estate (read first family Soinia ‘Maino’ Gandhi’). Ideological corruption is as much a part in this process as anything else. A journalist can get close to a political party (read Congress), business house (read Reliance Anil Ambani Group) or an individual ( read Guru Amar Singh) in a manner that compromises his (read the journalists) independence. Having acquired that proximity (with Congress and the Maino family), the journalist can then use his clout on a larger scale, playing kingmaker in cementing political alliances (By STILL not telecasting tapes) at the centre or in providing the (Help winning the political and/ or pay masters) link between a minister in the Union cabinet (?) and a business house (we all know, who.) in need of a favor. (Yes, do tell us please, is to serve the greatest cause of saving Hindustan from Communal forces?!)

Who is this ‘The Journalist’ Rajdeep Sardesai?

STRANGE, you did not answer this too brother! :(

Anyway, why you with held telecast when it mattered most or why you did telecast tapes defying all the reasons excuses you offered then… is only for Madame Sonia, Dr. MMS, Guru Amar Singh Ji, Anil Ambani or/and Amreeka to comprehend. J For a lesser mortal like me, I am still just as ignorant even today as I was on 22nd July.

Since I am neither a journalist nor a lawyer not even a well known one… what ever I say does not affect you – rather why should to you – or matters. So I take leave of you SAR, but before I leave, do want to tell you what your own ‘fraternity’ has to say about all this… good or bad, settle among selves… and yes, if you settle debates over some ‘drinks’ and feel like inviting me too! SAR, let me tell you my choice. I prefer Bacardi ‘on the rocks’. Cheers!

Why Mr. Padamshri did not air tapes on 22nd July?

Francois Gautier explains why.

There was a deafening silence on the role of Rajdeep Sardesai and his channel CNN-IBN’s role in helping the Congress win the vote. Sardesai sat on a sting tape which clearly showed someone who was close to Amar Singh handing over a crore to BJP MPs. If the tape had been aired it would have immediately led to the postponement of the trust vote and the UPA would have ultimately lost it. Instead, he handed it over to the Speaker only at 5 pm, knowing that it would be too late and that most likely Somnath Chatterjee would avoid taking immediate action.

Why did Mr. Padamshri telecast on 11th August, 2008?

Do Read this. An excellent analysis by ‘Ramanajum’ at THE HOOT.

Finally, this is what Eminent jurist Fali S Nariman said.

He said: “This particular episode could have been released immediately and if it was not released immediately on legal advice then I believe it should have awaited the results of the Parliament committee’s investigation”.

Rajdeep Sardesai: Cash-for-Votes-and-Hide-the-Tape Scandal. ‘Hamam Mein Sab Nange Hain’, of course!

Power corrupts. And absolute power corrupts absolutely. Power is simply to either ‘Grant an Undeserved Favor or Snatch a Rightful Right’. Right?

How the barbs thrown at others come back ‘haunting you’! In other words, when you dug a pit for others, you too might fall in that – some day!

We all have been passed on for generations this ‘Time Tested Wisdom’ that, “Lies have no feet. To cover up ‘a’ lie told; you invent another Hundreds of Lies. Eventually, you end up get caught in a web of your own lies’.

CNN IBN commissioned sting (cash for vote scandal) has made a storm not only in political circles but has been a hot topic among the media and many speculations are doing the rounds, ever since the eminent journalist Shri ‘Bharat Vibhushan’ Rajdeep Sardesai refused to air the tapes.

Yesterday CNN IBN issued a long statement – after 10 whole days – explaining why they (CNN IBN) did not telecast the sting.

Statement starts with, “In the last week, there has been speculation over an alleged ‘sting’ operation… […]

Mind the use of word ‘alleged’ in the opening sentence! Now read this,

“The ’sting’ operation conducted by our investigation team… […]

Huh!

“Why have we not telecast the story so far? Quite simply, we have chosen not to telecast the story yet because we did not feel that the story was complete.Credible journalism is based on accuracy not speed, facts not sensationalism, reportage not allegations and assumptions. Our rigorous editorial protocol demands that even a hidden camera shoot is absolutely water-tight.In this particular story, there were many loose ends that needed to be cross-checked, corroborated and investigated further before the story could be aired. … […]

Pray tell me Rajdeep, since when you have assumed the role of being an investigative agency head? And do tell us how many ‘sting operations’ aired at CNN IBN had been proved ‘complete’ and conclusive’?

The hoot asks, Is it the job of a TV channel to provide proof to any Constitutional authority, in this case the Speaker, before telecasting the news to its viewers?” Any answer, Bharat Bhushan Rajdeep Sardesai SAR?

The statement says, “As it transpired, even before we could complete the process of investigation, three BJP MPs made allegations in parliament of having been bribed and displayed cash in the House… […]

I am taking liberty to publish the sequence of the events and let us see what Rajdeep has to offer.

Following is the sequence of events, as told by ‘ A Confidential Source’. Let me make it clear. I am under no obligation to disclose my sources, (Isn’t it Rajdeep? J What you enjoy as ‘the privilege’ to with hold naming sources, I too reserve the same)

This is what ‘most probably’ had happened on Monday, 21st July 2008 and Tuesday, 22nd July 2008.

•Monday 11.30 am: After an unnamed “intermediary” approaches the three BJP MPs, party trouble-shooters contact the CNN-IBN. Faggan Singh Kulaste and Mahavir Bhagora are driven to the Le Meridien Hotel, supposedly to meet Congress leader Ahmed Patel. They are wearing button cameras provided by the channel. But there is no sign of Patel in the hotel.

•Monday 1.30 pm: An unnamed “contact” informs the three BJP MPs that SP MP Reoti Raman Singh would meet them at Ashok Argal’s residence at 4, Ferozeshah Road. The drawing room is fitted with bugging devices and the CNN team is listening in an ante-room. Reoti Raman Singh claims Amar Singh is the person who will finalise the deal.

•Tuesday 9 am: Argal and Kulaste go to Amar Singh’s house in Lodi Road. The MPs do not wear button cameras. They are filmed entering and exiting the house.

•Tuesday 2 pm: At 4, Ferozeshah Road, the three MPs get a visitor called Sanjeev Saxena who is allegedly carrying “advance” money for them. The hidden cameras are in place. In Saxena’s presence, the MPs remove the bundles to check the notes. After Saxena leaves, the CNN-IBN reporter interviews each MP. The serial numbers of the Rs 1,000 notes are filmed as proof that the cash delivered is the bundle taken to Parliament.

CNN IBN had an understanding with the ‘whistle blowers’ to air the tapes before ‘Trust Vote’ on that fateful day, Rajdeep did have a look on tapes (a fact he doesn’t deny but so evasively confirms in an interview to rediff.com

“Did you supervise the story?

My two reporters did the job. I may have had a look. Said Rajdeep.

As far as this your truly know or can ascertain, The Editor in Chief would have had no problem airing the tapes had the sting limited to BJP MPs accepting the bribe offered, but for new found ally and Ahmed Patel featuring in, He decided against it. :)

After all, Bharat Vibhushan was not rewarded for nothing! Time to pay back Rajdeep? We all know how awards are won, right from the horse’s mouth.

Rajdeep’s channel says, “We would like to reiterate that at CNN-IBN we remain committed to quality and independent journalism. Our commitment is to the truth. Truth that cannot be partial, inconclusive or sensational, but one that must adhere to exacting standards of fairness and accuracy. … […]

Wow! But for your so Nobel thoughts; Sweet Heart! J, who will judge what truth is? YOU, AMAR SINGH, MADAME or DADA? And how many times before your channel had assured all ‘that’ before airing all the ‘stings’ you did air so far?

Rajdeep, I have a nasty habit of reading ‘between the lines’. You are a busy and NOW too important a man, I won’t accuse you if you have forgotten what you said on June 26th, 2001 in a seminar.

(Reading between the lines… with my usual ‘Communal’ and biased yet true interpretations)

You say very too often, “Hamam Mein Sab Nange Hain”, Aree Bhai Aap Kahan Hain?

Rajdeep, simply telecast these tapes ‘unedited and uninfluenced’ with out a second delay lest it is confirmed, that you are all but what you claim to claim here,

“…we value our credibility and independence above all else… […]

It is not only you and CNN IBN whose credibility is at stake; it is of the entire media. Especially the always sermonizing, ‘holier than thou’ 24X7 channels. We have not forgotten how you guys played ‘havoc’ with the lives of Aarushi’s parents. We are in no mood to let you play that again with the very basic and fundamental principal of Democracy and to know what happened is our basic and fundamental right.

Telecast those tapes and let Billion Strong Prudent Indians judge. Period.

Prudent Indian.

STOP PRESS: An Important update from Yossarin. Boycott CNN IBN

Update: Offstumped snubs Rajdeep.

CNN-IBN Boycott - Many Sins

Excellent post must read.

So what Mr. Sardesai is saying is that his channel is really about the same old intellecutual arrogance and elitism of the so called “progressive liberals” who think they know what is right for us and hence will sit in judgement on what ought to be dished out to as news and opinion and what ought not. [...]

Another Update: A convenient forgetfulness. Francois Gautier.
